Musician
Jocelyn has been singing from age two, as she is told by her family. She began learning acoustic guitar at age 10, and picked up piano through high school. Jocelyn has a strong ear for music, and enjoys combining her ear training and theory knowledge in her musical endeavors.
Jocelyn has performed in many local venues as a soloist, as well as on numerous church worship teams, and in a band called the Lacey Hearts. Her go-to musical styles include (but are not limited to): Christian music, pop, folk, country, musical theater, and choral music. She greatly enjoys arranging mash-ups and medleys of songs, as well as writing songs of her own.
From middle school all through college, Jocelyn has been a singer in a variety of choirs and performing arts ensembles, including show choir, Iowa All-State Choir, Midland University's Chamber Choir, and the Clef Dwellers collegiate a capella group. Jocelyn served as a choral section leader, directing rehearsals and warmups for the ensemble. Through the Arts at Midland U, she got to sing in a choir behind Barry Manilow, perform in Midland U's Gospel Honors Choir at the Holland Center for Performing Arts, travel around the nation on tour with the Chamber Choir and Clef Dwellers, and arrange a piece performed by the Clef Dwellers!
