The Arts

Jocelyn has been singing from age two, as she is told by her family. From middle school all through college, Jocelyn has been a singer in a variety of choirs and performing ensembles, including show choir, Iowa All-State Choir, Midland University's Chamber Choir, the Clef Dwellers collegiate a capella group, and the Lacey Hearts. She has performed a variety of theatrical roles as well as production roles in the arts.

Through Midland U, Jocelyn has taken private voice lessons, music theory courses, fundamentals of acting, musical theater practicum and directing. She has also taken Acoustic Performance - a course tailored to teach her about a musician's identity and brand, and arrange music for a variety of vocal styles and abilities. Jocelyn has a strong ear for music, and enjoys combining her ear training and theory knowledge in her musical endeavors.

Faith Journey

Jocelyn grew up singing Gospel music with her family and going to church often. She experienced God's presence for the first time when she was nine years old attending worship at a kids camp in Iowa. Jocelyn put her faith in Jesus as her savior at a young age and has continued to trust in Him throughout her life's journey. God has been so present in her life, through happy times and challenging ones alike. She finds joy in sharing her faith story, making music, exploring different communities' approaches to worship, and helping others to experience God in worship. Fun Fact

Jocelyn grew up without depth perception, and so began vision therapy at the age of 19. She graduated from vision therapy after seven months. Vision therapy changed not only how she saw the physical world, but how she saw herself. She now experiences life fully in three dimensions.
